On March 30, 2021, a launch meeting for this construction project was held at the Binzhou branch of the company; Ma Junmang, the company’s chief engineer, Shi Junchang, the deputy chief engineer, members of the office responsible for advancing the construction of the smart factory, as well as leaders and relevant staff from the contractor company, attended the meeting. This marks the transition of the company’s ethylene glycol smart factory construction project from the bidding and negotiation phase to the implementation phase, with the construction work now fully underway. The meeting held thorough discussions on issues such as the project’s organizational structure, implementation details and schedule, system deployment and training, as well as quality assurance for project progress. It established work standards including measures for ensuring project progress and quality, requirements for design details, assignment of responsibilities, and scheduling, and reached consensus on aspects such as \"systematic and forward-looking top-level planning,\" \"adherence to practical principles,\" and \"creating high-quality projects.\" The company’s project to build an intelligent ethylene glycol factory in Binzhou is one of its key priorities for the year 2020. The company places emphasis on top-level planning and design. To ensure that the projects are successful upon completion, it has conducted numerous investigations into technical solutions and application examples. Guided by the \"Guidelines for the Construction of Intelligent Factories in Shaanxi Chemical Group\" issued under document No. Shaanxi Chemical Industry Department [2020] 105, and taking into account the actual conditions of the enterprise, it has established a comprehensive construction approach that reflects the company’s own characteristics. This approach is driven by practicality, business needs, and the improvement of management; its goals include reducing staff numbers, cutting costs while increasing efficiency, ensuring safety, environmental protection, and energy conservation, enabling intelligent and scientific decision-making, significantly reducing the workload of operators, and improving production efficiency and management levels. It also aims to enhance the ability for comprehensive monitoring and scientific decision-making, thereby boosting the company’s market competitiveness and facilitating its high-quality, sustainable development. This approach provides a clear blueprint for the implementation of intelligent factories. At the beginning of 2021, in accordance with documents issued by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group such as \"Guidelines on Key Tasks and Supporting Documents for 2021\" and \"Evaluation Criteria for the Construction of Intelligent Factories in 2021\", which outlined the specific tasks and timeline requirements for building intelligent factories, the company carefully analyzed and sorted out the construction tasks categorized as Type A (mandatory), Type B (optional), and Type C (to be carried out independently), as well as individual projects related to best practices. It formulated an annual plan, identifying 11 projects related to automation, information technology, integration, and intelligence, covering areas such as video surveillance, network architecture and network security integration, and advanced control systems. At present, these planned projects are all under the company’s unified coordination, with relevant business departments working closely together to advance them in an orderly manner according to the set timelines. Following this project kickoff meeting, work on the overall planning of the smart factory, the real-time database, and the production execution system was launched on a full scale. It is planned to have these systems operational by early July, which will lay a solid foundation for further utilization of the smart factory.
