On the occasion of the 51st World Environment Day, on June 2, Tianye Group held the launching ceremony for its World Environment Day 65 activities themed “Building a Clean and Beautiful World” at Tianwei Power Plant. The event was organized by the Environmental Protection Committee of Tianye Group and carried out by Tianye Group’s Energy Management Company. Its aim is to thoroughly study and implement the concepts of ecological civilization, to encourage the whole society to enhance its awareness of environmental protection, and to engage in the construction of an ecological civilization. In recent years, Tianye Group has adhered to the environmental protection philosophy that \"environmental protection must be taken into account in production management, business operations, and development efforts.\" For many consecutive years, it has ranked among the top 500 Chinese enterprises as well as the top 500 in China’s manufacturing sector. It is one of the first batch of enterprises in the country to serve as pilot projects for circular economy practices, as well as model enterprises for technological innovation, demonstration sites for circular economy education, and pilot enterprises for establishing resource-saving and environment-friendly operations. Over the years, the enterprise has consistently adhered to the principle that \"protecting the environment is equivalent to protecting productivity, and improving the environment contributes to the development of productivity.\" It has actively promoted technological upgrades aimed at enhancing environmental protection. The company has implemented demonstration projects for cleaner production that reduce mercury emissions in the production of polyvinyl chloride using the calcium carbide method; it has developed innovative processes such as hydrogen production from natural gas coupled with PVC manufacturing, tail gas recovery via pressure swing adsorption, and combined absorption techniques. It has also independently developed a technology for producing ethylene glycol using high-concentration carbon monoxide conversion in calcium carbide furnace exhaust systems. Additionally, its new dry-process technology has enabled a complete transformation from using 100% calcium carbide slag in cement production to using various industrial waste residues instead. Through technological upgrades aimed at achieving ultra-low emissions across the entire calcium carbide production process, these projects have successfully facilitated the recycling of wastewater, waste gas, and waste residues. The company is also at the forefront of the industry in terms of precise environmental management and technological advancement. It is reported that relying on the conversion of its advantageous resources and adhering to a new circular economy model characterized by the integrated development of multiple industries in modern coal chemical engineering, Tianye Group continues to deepen structural adjustments in its industry, emphasizes innovation as a driving force, and remains committed to pursuing a path of modern industrialization. A high-end modern chemical industry development model has been established, one that is based on chlor-alkali chemistry, combined with hydrocarbon chemistry, and extended through coal chemical integrated production, thereby moving toward a diversified circular economy. By focusing on new chemical materials, polyester fibers produced in Xinjiang, and biodegradable polymer materials, efforts are being made to create a green and low-carbon chemical industrial park with competitive advantages, characterized by differentiated products, high-quality offerings, and an international brand presence. It is understood that the series of activities organized by Tianye Group for World Environment Day this time will take place from May 15 to June 25, 2022. These activities will include exhibitions of environmental protection-themed works, competitions on environmental knowledge, themed speeches, as well as efforts to improve the environment on site and various competition events. In addition, environmental protection facilities will be made available to the public. These activities will be promoted through platforms such as the company’s WeChat official account, newspapers, radio, LED screens, and in-car video systems, in order to fully showcase the achievements in environmental protection, the results of pollution control, efforts in ecological conservation, and the progress achieved in green and high-quality development.
