Xinjiang Nenghua Coal Chemical Company: Foundation-laying ceremony for 60,000-ton per year melamine production project / Author/Source: Shandong Energy Group / Date: 2021-05-07 / Clicks: 14 On the morning of April 25, the foundation-laying ceremony for Xinjiang Nenghua Coal Chemical Company’s project to produce 60,000 tons of melamine per year was held in the Ganquanbao Economic and Technological Development Zone (Industrial Area) in Urumqi. At a critical stage in Xinjiang Nenghua’s efforts to build a \"comprehensive development base for coal and chemical integration,\" the commencement of the melamine project represents a practical measure to optimize the product portfolio, extend the industrial chain, increase the added value of products, and promote high-quality development for the enterprise. It marks the beginning of a new phase for Xinjiang Coal Chemical Company, one focused on optimizing existing assets and achieving sustainable growth during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The first-phase 600,000-ton per year alcohol-ammonia co-production project of Xinjiang Coal Chemical Company has reached full capacity and operational efficiency; during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, it generated a total output value of 5.6 billion yuan, with its profitability showing steady growth. The melamine project is located outside the eastern factory area, covering an area of 200 mu. With a total investment of approximately 568.8 million yuan, it employs the state-of-the-art fourth-generation high-pressure process technology from Italian company OTEC. All the raw materials required for production are supplied internally, and it is possible to make efficient use of electricity, steam, recycled water, desalinated water, as well as other supporting utilities and auxiliary systems, in conjunction with those already in use. Once this project is completed and operational, it is expected to add an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of melamine, generating an additional output value of 600 million yuan. This will help to make better use of the complementary advantages of upstream and downstream processes, enhancing the company’s innovation capabilities, driving force for development, and profitability. It will undoubtedly play a positive role in establishing a relatively complete industry chain for fine chemicals and new materials in the Xinjiang base, as well as in the local economic and social development.
