In 2026, during the 25th National \"Safety Production Month\", everyone is encouraged to talk about safety and to know how to respond in emergency situations; risks and potential hazards must be identified and addressed. On July 10th, the first national quality standard laboratory in the field of coal-to-oil chemical manufacturing in China was inaugurated in Ningxia, under the leadership of State Energy Group Ningxia Coal Industry Company. The laboratory will focus on the entire coal-to-chemicals industry chain, and establish a national-level set of standards and testing evaluation systems that cover raw material management, production processes, end products, low-carbon energy consumption, safety and environmental protection, as well as quality grading. It will prioritize overcoming the key technical challenges in cutting-edge fields such as specialty oils, α-olefins, Fischer-Tropsch waxes, and high-end carbon materials. Standards for evaluating low-carbon products and calculating carbon footprints will be developed, and the laboratory will make its instruments, testing platforms, and standard databases available to the entire industry. At the same time, State Energy Group will work together with its General Institute of Science and Technology, Research Institute for the Chemical Industry, as well as universities and research institutions, to provide public services such as industry quality verification and standard development.
