Construction began on the first phase of Hebi Longyu’s plant for producing 300,000 tons of polyoxymethylene per year. Author/Source: Sinochem News Network. Date: July 8, 2021. Clicks: 11. According to reports from ** Network in Hebi City, Henan Province, on the morning of April 6, construction started on the first phase of Hebi Longyu New Materials Co., Ltd.’s plant designed to produce 300,000 tons of polyoxymethylene per year, located in Baoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone. This project was developed in collaboration between Hebi City ** and Henan Energy and Chemical Group, utilizing copolymerized formaldehyde technology. By leveraging the well-developed infrastructure in Baoshan Economic Development Zone as well as the utility facilities such as methanol, water, electricity, and steam provided by the 600,000-ton-per-year methanol production plant, it is possible to reduce construction costs, lower production and management expenses, and enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will be able to generate annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan, thereby further extending the coal chemical industry chain in our city and strengthening the industrial cluster.
On February 6, 017-02-09, it was learned from the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology that the project for optimizing the production process of triomethylenetetrahydrofuran and for researching and applying key equipment technologies, carried out independently by Kaifeng Longyu Chemical Co., Ltd., enables the average reaction conversion rate to be increased to 14.5%, the purity to exceed 99.5%, the content of impurity formaldehyde to be reduced to below 50 ppm, and the formaldehyde content in the wastewater discharged to be reduced to below 200 ppm. This technology is at the leading level in domestic research of its kind, and it has obtained the necessary approval for use in related industries. Experts from the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology believe that the deployment of this project has promoted the localization, improved performance, higher quality, differentiation, and serialization of copolymerized polyoxymethylene products. It has met the demands of the domestic market for high-end polyoxymethylene products, enhanced their international competitiveness, effectively reduced the pressure associated with wastewater treatment during the recycling of intermediate products, and lowered the production costs of copolymerized polyoxymethylene. According to Wang Yanhui, the person in charge of the Kaifeng Longyu project, since the core technologies for producing polyoxymethylene originate from countries and regions such as Poland and South Korea, China relies heavily on imports for high-quality polyoxymethylene products, which severely hinders the widespread use of domestically produced polyoxymethylene. To break through the technological blockades in this field, Kaifeng Longyu focused on improving the production process of polyoxymethylene. By distilling and recovering raw material methanol, intermediate product formaldehyde, and certain low-concentration products such as polyoxymethylene, as well as by optimizing and redesigning the key process technologies and equipment used in production, it succeeded in producing polyoxymethylene using the \"excess methanol method\". In an interview with reporters, Wang Yanhui said that the project has achieved breakthroughs in various aspects such as conversion rate, product quality, and clean production: the average reaction conversion rate of triomethylenemethane increased from less than 13.5% to 14.5%, the purity rose from 99.2% to over 99.5%, the quality compliance rate improved from 60% to over 90%, the content of impurity formaldehyde was reduced to below 50 ppm, and the content of heavy impurities dropped from 0.7% to below 0.35%. This reduced the impact of the melt index and formaldehyde vapor on the quality assessment of copolymerized methylene chloride products, increasing the proportion of high-quality products from 20% to 30%. It also decreased the corrosion rate of equipment caused by formic acid, a by-product of the process, resulting in a reduction of more than 50% in the number of times equipment and pipelines had to be shut down for maintenance due to corrosion. Additionally, the efficiency of raw material recovery was improved, reducing the loss of raw materials; the formaldehyde content in the wastewater discharged was reduced from 2000 ppm to below 200 ppm. “This project has been implemented in Kaifeng Longyu’s 40,000 tons per year polyoxymethylene production facility, facilitating a shift from traditional business practices, improving resource utilization, reducing production costs, and accelerating the promotion of domestic brands. ”Li Wubin, the executive deputy general manager of Kaifeng Longyu, said that as the production scale of the products increases and their application areas expand, triomethylenetetraamine can not only generate new sources of profit for enterprises but also promote the development of related industries, thereby improving the quality of related products and raising the level of these industries
