On July 12, the oil residue hydrogen production unit at Zhejiang Petrochemical (Phase II), constructed by Sinochem Sixth Construction Company, achieved successful first ignition and trial operation, producing qualified hydrogen. Zhejiang Petrochemical (Phase II) is located in the Green Petrochemical Base in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. It is a **key project and one of the major projects under the development of the Zhejiang Free Trade Pilot Zone. Once the project is put into operation, it will have the largest petroleum refining capacity in Asia, which will be of great significance for supporting the domestic petrochemical industry and the refined oil market. Sichuan Branch of Sinochem Sixth Construction is responsible for the coal and coke gas production facility as well as the oil residue hydrogen production facility. The latter is the world’s first facility to use this technology for hydrogen production, and once completed, it will fill a gap in this field in China.
