Contract for the process package of the BDO unit in Xinjiang’s project to produce 100,000 tons of BDO and 120,000 tons of PBAT per year signed Author/Source: Coal Chemicals Journal Date: 2021-07-29 Clicks: 21 On July 26, the contract for the process package and technical services related to the BDO unit in Xinjiang Shuguang Luhua Biotechnology Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 100,000 tons of BDO and 120,000 tons of PBAT per year was officially signed in Hefei. Yu Yongfa, Chairman of Anhui Shuguang Chemical Group Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Shuguang Luhua, Wan Mingdong, President of Guanda Enterprise Co., Ltd., and Li Lixin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Donghua Technology, attended the signing ceremony. The BDO unit is one of the core process units in the Shuguang Lihua project. The signing of its process package and technical service contracts officially marked the beginning of the engineering design phase for this project, signaling that it has entered a stage of rapid progress. Shuguang Luhua was established through joint investment by Anhui Shuguang Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Luyuan State-owned Capital Investment and Operation Co., Ltd., and Donghua Technology. The project is located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Tiemenguan City, with a total investment of approximately 3.57 billion yuan and a construction period of around 26 months. The project covers the entire production process of producing acetylene from natural gas, 1,4-butanediol (BDO) through the synthesis of acetylene and formaldehyde, and biodegradable plastic PBAT from 1,4-butanediol (BDO), terephthalic acid (PTA), and adipic acid (AA). Based on this project, Donghua Technology will achieve integration across the entire industry chain and value chain in the field of biodegradable plastics, covering key aspects such as research and development, design, manufacturing, and industrial investment.
