On April 8, with the start-up of the No. 3 coal boiler for heating, steam in an amount of 38 kilograms was supplied externally at 22:30; thus, the maintenance work related to the hydrogen supply system in the fertilizer production department of Urumqi Petrochemical Company reached another key milestone on schedule. Coal boilers and the fuel ash removal system are important devices that ensure the supply of steam for power generation in the fertilizer production department’s hydrogen supply facility; they play a key role in maintaining balance within the company’s steam distribution network. They are also an essential part of this hydrogen supply system. Since the shutdown on February 28 for process treatment and subsequent maintenance work, a total of 128 maintenance and inspection tasks have been scheduled, including metal surveillance inspections of the water wall, superheaters, economizers, and headers of boilers No. 3 and No. 4; replacement of smoke duct expansion joints in the ultra-low emission tower area; reinforcement of pipes in the pump room; and various repairs to the pipelines involved in the post-desulfurization treatment process. To support and coordinate the maintenance work related to hydrogen supply in the fertilizer production department and to ensure that these tasks are completed on time and to a high standard, the local workshops have established dedicated maintenance supervision teams. The boiler, steam turbine, and fuel ash removal workshops have set up teams responsible for equipment, processes, instrumentation, and safety oversight, which are assigned to various maintenance units and teams. These teams are involved throughout the entire maintenance process, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards while promptly addressing any issues that arise on site. The local workshop also took advantage of this rare learning opportunity to train some young employees and those who have changed roles. With the start of operations this time, the fertilizer production department has set as a goal to ensure that exhaust gases are discharged in compliance with regulations. It has taken early steps to coordinate with environmental protection agencies at all levels, and systems such as online monitoring systems, electrostatic bag filters, and ultra-clean emission systems were tested in advance and any issues were resolved so that they could be put into use promptly and in good working condition. On the day of boiler startup, the boiler workshop and the combustion and waste treatment workshop worked closely together to complete the plan development in advance. The entire process was carried out in a rigorous and accurate manner, with all measures properly implemented and operations verified at two levels. Each step of the ignition and heating process was carried out on schedule, ensuring that safety and environmental protection standards were met. Currently, Boiler No. 3 in the fertilizer production department, as well as the denitration and ultra-clean emission systems, are operating smoothly.
