Wang Yongge, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of the group company, was in attendance; leaders such as Gao Yanqing, Feng Zhiwu, and Liu Youtu also participated. Since the new century, biodegradable modified materials have received widespread attention in developed countries, showing rapid development trends, with their economic viability gradually improving. Our country also attaches great importance to the development of the industry for biodegradable modified materials, having listed it as one of the strategic emerging industries to be prioritized for development in the future. The large-scale development and application of biodegradable modified materials are of great significance for China in reducing the reliance of the chemical materials industry on fossil resources, accelerating the transformation of development patterns, improving the ecological environment and quality of life, promoting green economic growth, enhancing the level of circular economy in industry and agriculture, and advancing urbanization. The 20,000 tons per year project for a full range of biodegradable new materials is primarily engaged in the production of high-end fully biodegradable modified materials and products, while the 20,000 tons per year project for biodegradable modified materials and plastic products focuses on the production of conventional fully biodegradable modified materials and products. At the evaluation meeting, an expert panel composed of scholars and experts from Tsinghua University, the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, the Degradable Plastics Committee of the China Plastics Association, Shanxi Qingyuan Environmental Consulting Co., Ltd., and Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd. conducted thorough discussions via video link on aspects such as the project’s technical processes, safety and environmental considerations, as well as investment and economic benefits, thereby forming their evaluation opinions.
