On November 16, concrete pouring for the silo foundation pad of the synthetic ammonia feedstock production line and energy-saving/emission-reduction technology upgrade project at the Zhejiang Jinju Chemical Project, carried out by the East China Branch, started, marking progress in this project despite various difficulties. During the foundation excavation, since the construction area was an existing old factory building with many reinforced concrete foundations underground, along with abundant groundwater and a complex surrounding environment, severe water accumulation in the foundation pit occurred. The project team faced the difficulties head-on and took proactive measures to deal with the drainage issues, such as digging temporary water storage tanks, using pumps in the methanol workshop to drain wastewater, and employing tank trucks to pump out water, all to ensure the proper progress of construction of the silo foundation. The synthetic ammonia raw material route and energy-saving and emission-reduction technology upgrade project of Zhejiang Jinju Chemical uses a 6.5MPaG water-cooled wall direct-connected waste boiler gasifier (Jinhua Furnace 3.0) to replace the existing batch fixed-bed gasifiers and low-pressure refractory brick quenched gasifiers; the gasification unit is designed as a dual-unit setup with one as a backup, and commissioning is scheduled for 2021.
