Recently, Linde Engineering entered into contracts with Henan Jindadi Chemical Co., Ltd. and Hubei Jinjiang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. to supply 2 sets of air separation units with such capacity; these units are scheduled to come online at the beginning of 2024. Linde Engineering will supply one set of low-temperature cryogenic air separation unit for Jindi’s fifth-phase 600,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis project located in Wuyang County, Luohe City, Henan Province, to produce 80,000 Nm3/h of oxygen as well as high-pressure and medium-pressure nitrogen required for downstream processes. This air separation unit utilizes Linde’s cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing processes to meet customers’ demands for low energy consumption and high reliability. Meanwhile, Linde Engineering will also supply one identical air separation unit to Jinjiang New Materials, a sister company of Jindadi, to support its first-phase synthetic ammonia project with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tons, located in Jingzhou, Hubei Province. The Phase 4 project of Henan Jindadi, which involves a production capacity of 600,000 tons per year of sodium bicarbonate, is accompanied by a synthetic ammonia production facility with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year. Two Jinhua furnaces were added in phase four. The newly added Jinhua furnaces are connected to the main pipelines of the three Jinhua furnaces in the original Phase III 450,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis project, serving as backups for one another, thus forming a gasification island with four units in operation and one as backup. The third phase of the 450,000 tons per year ammonia synthesis plant was put into operation in February 2019. Full capacity operation was achieved in May of the same year. Henan Jindadi’s 600,000-ton/year sodium bicarbonate project is accompanied by a 600,000-ton/year ammonia synthesis facility; it utilizes Jinhua Furnace 3.0 gasification technology, and two additional Jinhua furnaces have been added, with one in operation and the other as a backup. After starting up, together with the three Jinhua Furnace 3.0 units in the third-phase project that are already in operation, it forms a gasification island with four units in operation and one as backup. The pressure and gas flow rate of the newly added Jinhua furnace are consistent with those of the first three gasification furnaces; the daily coal input for each is 1,500 tons. The gasification pressure remains at 6.5 MPa, while the gas flow rate per furnace is 80,000 m3/h (CO + H2).
