Guizhou’s largest investment project to date, a 73 billion yuan phosphorus-coal chemical integration project in Bijie, has been launched

On August 29, the launching ceremony for the phosphorus-coal chemical integration project in Bijie, Guizhou was held in the Economic Development Zone of Zhijin County, marking the official start of implementation for this highly anticipated \"Project No. 1\" of the province. This project is jointly invested by Aoyuan, Huafeng, and Huayou Group, with a total investment of around 73 billion yuan, aiming to build a complete industrial chain for new energy and new materials. The project is planned to include production facilities with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons of iron phosphate, 800,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, 1 million tons of dimethyl carbonate (DMC), 5 million tons of coke, 500,000 tons of methanol produced from coke oven gas, 800,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 1 million tons of hydrogen peroxide. Upon completion of the project, the annual output value is expected to reach 120 billion yuan. Since the Guizhou Provincial Government and three enterprises signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in Guiyang on December 28, 2023, this project has received strong support from the provincial Party committee and government; an Investment Agreement was officially signed on April 21, 2024, at the China Industrial Transfer and Development Forum (Guizhou). The project task forces at the city and county levels in Bijie have established a \"weekly coordination\" mechanism aligned with the project’s commencement timeline, to ensure that all necessary elements are properly in place, thus laying a solid foundation for the smooth start of the project. It is said that once this project is completed and put into operation, it will significantly boost the development of emerging industries in Guizhou Province, promote the research, development, and production of new energy power batteries and related materials, and help the province become an important national base for the advanced processing of resources. Bijie City will continue to strengthen communication and coordination with the three companies of Qingshan, Huayou, and Huafeng, in order to facilitate the early completion and operation of the projects, and make every effort to achieve significant breakthroughs and improvements in the industrial economy. It is understood that on April 21, Wu Donglai, Deputy Secretary of the Bijie Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Guizhou Province, signed the \"Guizhou Bijie Phosphorus-Coal Chemical Integration Project\" agreement on behalf of the municipal government together with Li Zhijun, vice president of Huayou Holding Group and a representative of the enterprise. This project is Guizhou Province’s top priority project, namely the Bijie Phosphorus-Coal Chemical New Materials Integration Project, and it is also the largest industrial investment project in Guizhou’s history. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases. It is planned to invest in the construction of a project with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of iron phosphate and 800,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, along with associated projects and facilities for the comprehensive development of phosphorus chemicals ； Plans to invest in the construction of facilities capable of producing 1 million tons per year of DMC (dimethyl carbonate), 5 million tons per year of coke, 500,000 tons per year of methanol from coke oven gas, 800,000 tons per year of synthetic ammonia, and 1 million tons per year of hydrogen peroxide. For the first phase of the project, an investment of 24.3 billion yuan is planned, to build facilities with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of iron phosphate, 250,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate, 2 million tons of coking products, 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, and 300,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide. Once the integrated project is put into operation, it is expected to generate an annual output value of over 120 billion yuan and create more than 14,000 jobs.
