Recently, an expert review meeting on the foundation design of the gasification unit for the coal-based new materials project of Hami Xinneng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was held at Sinochem Hualu Company. At the meeting, the expert group listened to Hualu Company’s presentation on the design results for the foundation of the gasification unit, covering aspects such as the process scheme, equipment layout, instrument control, power supply and distribution systems, and the design of buildings and structures. The successful holding of this review meeting not only marks the entry of the basic engineering design for the gasification plant into its final stage but also serves as an important milestone for the Hami New Energy Coal-based New Materials project. Next, Hualu Company will carefully consider the suggestions and recommendations of the expert group, and carry out the conceptual design work for the gasification unit to high standards, thereby providing a solid foundation for the high-quality progress of the project. The coal-based new materials project of Hami Xinneng Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. uses raw coal from Santanghu Coal Mine as a feedstock, and employs pressurized dry powder gasification technology via the waste boiler process to produce methanol. Downstream, the domestically developed MMA route is used to manufacture coal-based new materials such as MMA/PMMA, SAP, acetic anhydride, and polyoxymethylene. The project consumes 3.0558 million tons of coal per year. The total investment required for its construction is 17.13 billion yuan, of which 14.557 billion yuan is allocated to the construction costs (excluding value-added tax). The project is planned to be constructed in phases, with the initial phase involving the construction of a methanol production facility with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons. The project construction includes an air separation unit, a gasification unit, a purification unit, a methanol unit, an acetic acid unit, a formaldehyde unit, a polyformaldehyde unit, an SAP unit, an acetic anhydride unit, an MMA unit, and a PMMA unit. Xinjiang Energy (Group) Co., Ltd. was officially established in August 2023, resulting from the merger and restructuring of the former Xinjiang Energy Group and Xinjiang New Energy Group, with a registered capital of 20 billion yuan. As of the end of June 2024, the group’s total assets amounted to 43.3 billion yuan, with over 2,200 employees.
