Shanxi Coking Takes Multiple Measures to Promote Water Conservation Author/Source: Sinochem News Network Date: 2022-04-07 Clicks: 6 Six days ago, the three biochemical treatment units in the wastewater treatment workshop of Shanxi Coking’s auxiliary facilities were able to treat 248.5 cubic meters of wastewater per hour on average, ensuring that all of the company’s wastewater underwent biochemical treatment. To improve the comprehensive utilization rate of water resources, Shanxi Coking has established a wastewater treatment facility to increase the production capacity for reclaimed water reuse and advanced wastewater treatment. The clean wastewater from various production plants is collected and sent to this integrated treatment system for reuse as industrial water, thereby reducing the consumption of fresh water and enabling the circular use of water resources with multiple applications. In addition, the company has upgraded the three biochemical units in the wastewater treatment plant on multiple occasions; particularly after the implementation of the ammonia vapor wastewater pretreatment project, the wastewater treatment capacity increased from 190 cubic meters per hour at the beginning of last year to around 240 cubic meters per hour currently. At the same time, Shanxi Coking has optimized its process operations and strengthened water conservation measures; it has implemented centralized cooling for the production circulating water in Systems 2 and 3 of its chemical product recycling plant, thereby reducing the need for fresh water and lowering the company’s water consumption, achieving significant water-saving results. Since the beginning of this year, through enhanced control at the source of water quality and biochemical treatment, the daily processing capacity of the company’s wastewater treatment plant has increased from 195 cubic meters per hour to 238.35 cubic meters per hour. Since March, the average daily processing capacity has reached 248.5 cubic meters per hour, which has eliminated the problem of coking caused by raw water and reduced the pressure on the wastewater treatment system; this has laid the foundation for Shanxi Coking to achieve zero wastewater discharge and operate at full capacity.
