To date, 99.3% of the overall plan for the 1.8 million tons/year ethylene glycol plant has been completed. The civil engineering, steel structure, and equipment installation work have been largely completed. The installation and pressure testing of process pipelines are in progress, and the installation and commissioning of electrical instruments are nearing completion. The project has now fully entered the stage of \"three inspections and four determinations\" as well as the handover acceptance phase. There are a total of 215 main items across the various units in the plant; 108 of these have been completed, giving a completion rate of 50.2%. Regarding production testing: the coal storage and transportation system has been put into operation; boilers No. 2 and No. 5 in the power station have been successfully ignited, and boilers No. 3 and No. 4 are generating qualified steam ； The K1 and K2 steam turbines for air separation have been started up, and the steam turbines of Series I for other chemical plants have also been started up; various units are currently carrying out tasks such as system purging and airtightness testing. The pyrolysis phase of the 15 million tons/year demonstration project for the clean, efficient, and differentiated conversion of coal has completed 92.83% of the overall schedule. The civil engineering and steel structure works are basically completed; 91.5% of the equipment installation has been finished, and 97% of the process piping installation is complete. The laying of electrical wires and cables as well as individual equipment tests are currently in progress. The hydrogen supply solvent and light oil hydrogenation units, as well as the substation in the raw material tank area, have been powered; the substations for the coal pyrolysis unit and the slurry bed hydrogenation unit are ready to be powered. The 15 million tons per year demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal into various products, operated by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., is located within the Qingshui Coal Chemistry Industrial Park in the Yulin-Yushen Industrial Park. The investment in this project amounts to 26.2 billion yuan, and it will be constructed in two phases and four stages. Phase 1 of the project is divided into two stages: Stage 1 involves the construction of an ethylene glycol plant with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons. The site area for this phase is approximately 4.4 million square meters, and the total investment required is around 26.5 billion yuan. It is currently the largest coal-based ethylene glycol production facility under construction in the world. In the second phase, projects for the production of 5.6 million tons per year of methanol, 2 million tons per year of olefins, and related downstream processing facilities will be constructed. Phase II of the project focuses on coal pyrolysis and is also divided into two stages. The first stage involves an industrial demonstration facility for the pyrolysis of 1.2 million tons per year of pulverized coal and the deep processing of 500,000 tons per year of coal tar. In the second stage, the scale of pyrolysis is increased to 15 million tons, and the coal tar industry chain is expanded to produce downstream products derived from aromatics and arenes.
