Let’s give praise and support to the achievements in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment. **********************[A Decade of Progress in Chemical Engineering Equipment] A continuously updated summary thread; feel free to join the discussions: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html (Source: Haichuan Chemical Engineering Forum) ***************** On 2024-05-23, it was reported that Zhong’an United successfully completed the second round of industrial tests for the project titled “Research and Development of Key Technologies for SE Powder Coal Gasification Using Biomass Energy, along with Industrial Demonstration”. This experiment used 2,400 tons of biomass, which, when converted to its calorific value, is equivalent to replacing about 1,500 tons of coal. Based on coal combustion, this is equivalent to a reduction of approximately 3,100 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This industrial test is conducted to verify the data from the first round of tests and evaluate various economic and technical indicators. During the trial, under the on-site guidance of experts from the Chemicals Division and the Technology Department at headquarters, as well as from units such as Great Wall Energy & Chemical, Ningbo Engineering Company, Hunan Petrochemical, Qingdao Safety Research Institute, and SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, Zhong’an United blended biomass and coal in various proportions for gasification. The equipment operated smoothly throughout the trial, effectively reducing carbon emissions. Biomass is a zero-carbon resource; its raw materials include trees, straw, and other agricultural and forestry waste, offering a wide range of sources. Under the backdrop of the “dual carbon” goals, applying modern gasification technologies in the coal chemical industry—by partially substituting coal with biomass and coupling coal with renewable resources such as biomass for gasification—is an effective approach to reducing emissions and promoting the green and sustainable development of the industry. This approach holds great prospects for future development. This project utilizes gas-flow bed gasification technology, which offers advantages such as a high carbon conversion rate, no tar production, and large furnace capacity. Biomass can be gasified using this method to produce high-quality syngas, making it an innovative approach compared to existing fixed-bed and fluidized-bed gasification technologies. Biomass mixed gasification uses the SE Dongfang furnace from Zhongan United Gasification Equipment.
Thank you for the hard work in collecting, organizing, and sharing the materials! Give a thumbs up and encouragement to the achievements made by China’s chemical technology and equipment industry!
