China National Coal Group is expanding its efforts in coal-to-olefins production, with another large-scale project set to begin! Author/Source: Coal-Based New Materials Date: 2022-03-14 Clicks: 6 On March 2, Wang Xiangsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Director of Pingshuo Group, and Yang Jingyi, Deputy General Manager, participated in the feasibility study meeting for the Pingshuo coal-to-olefins project via video link, and offered suggestions and requirements for moving forward with the project. At the meeting, Wang Xiangsheng listened to a presentation by Tianchen Engineering Company on the development of coal-to-olefins projects in China, the technological advancements in this field over the past few years, and the associated requirements for such projects. He also put forward requirements regarding project design, construction, and management. First, objectively analyze the economic viability of the project, scientifically assess market prospects, and ensure that the project is profitable ； Second, it is necessary to ensure that the project’s process technology is mature and stable, as well as that the equipment is advanced ； Third, product positioning should be diversified, high-end, and differentiated to avoid homogeneous competition and enhance the market competitiveness of the projects ； Fourth, the project must comply with laws and regulations as well as relevant ** policy requirements, while also taking into account the integration of coal, electricity, and chemicals in the park where the project is to be built. Relevant officials from the Coal Chemicals Division of China National Coal Group, the Planning and Development Department and the Industrial Research Institute of Pingshuo Group, as well as those from Tianchen Engineering Company, attended the meeting. China National Coal Group focuses on developing large-scale coal chemical bases in Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi and other regions, and is planning coal-to-olefins projects. To date, China Coal Group, including its subsidiaries and joint ventures, has 5 olefin companies that are in operation, under construction, or planned: China Coal Shaanxi Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Phases 1 and 2), Inner Mongolia China Coal Mengda New Energy Chemical Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Phases 1 and 2), Zhongtian Hechuang Energy Co., Ltd., and China Coal Pingshuo Group Co., Ltd.
