Recently, Yihua Carbon One’s project for producing 10,000 tons of dimethyl sulfoxide per year successfully delivered high-quality products, which were officially released from the production line. At present, the production system is operating smoothly, with all indicators within safe and controllable ranges; the company has taken a solid step forward in the field of sulfur-based fine chemicals. This project adopts the first set of new processes in China, converting hydrogen sulfide waste gas generated during coal chemical processing into dimethyl sulfoxide products with high added value. This approach significantly enhances the utility of by-products from coal chemical processing, enables the extension and improvement of the coal chemical industry chain, and promotes the transformation of this industry toward greater sophistication, sustainability, and higher value-added outputs. Faced with new manufacturing processes and complex equipment, and without any existing experience or precedents to follow, the project team pursued technical solutions with a commitment to excellence, conducting repeated process simulations and production trials, which provided a solid foundation for a successful first run and for ensuring that product quality met the required standards. This project is not only a technological breakthrough but also achieves simultaneous development of environmental protection and economic benefits. In the future, the company will take this as an opportunity to continue to focus on the niche area of sulfur chemical industry, enhance technical improvements and market development, and continuously strengthen its core competitiveness, thereby making greater contributions to the high-quality development of the enterprise.
