The first winning bidder is Liaoning Jiabao Petrochemical Equipment Co., Ltd. The technical upgrade project for Ningxia Coal Industry’s MTP process has been approved, with a total investment of around 11.8 billion yuan. The existing MTP units were built and put into operation in 2010 and 2014 respectively, and their overall energy consumption is at a relatively high level. Under the backdrop of the \"dual carbon\" strategy, high energy consumption becomes a significant drawback of this device. The strategy adopted by Ningxia Coal Industry is to shut down two old units, adopt the third-generation DMTO technology developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and build a new methanol-to-olefins plant with an annual production capacity of 3.6 million tons. Adjustments to the technical approach will result in changes to the entire product structure. The newly added 1.35 million tons per year of olefin separation facility, along with facilities for producing high-end polyolefins such as 100,000 tons per year of EVA, 300,000 tons per year of LDPE, and 300,000 tons per year of HDPE, will bring about a fundamental change in the product structure – shifting from a focus on single products to a variety of products, and from products with low added value to those with high added value. The project has moved from the civil construction phase to the installation phase of key equipment. As supporting facilities, two methanol storage tanks with a single-tank capacity of 30,000 cubic meters have been put into use in advance.
