Est Chemicals and Pla Global plan to jointly build a recycled base oil refining facility in Singapore

Recently, Singapore-based Estar Chemicals and German company Prall Global signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop a project for the production of refined recycled base oils in Singapore. 　　The core of this project is to process used engine oil into high-performance Group II/III/III+ base oils. Such oils have a wide range of applications; they serve as key raw materials for engine lubricants, aviation engine lubricants, gear oils for wind turbines, heat transfer fluids for new energy vehicles, and oils used in precision industrial equipment. 　　The two parties will collaborate by leveraging their respective strengths: Pra Global provides globally exclusive core technologies for regenerative refining, such as the proprietary HyLube and HyRes processes, which enable the industrial-scale and efficient regeneration of used motor oil. The molecular structure of the resulting oil closely resembles that of brand-new, high-end Group III base oil. Meanwhile, Ester Chemical will draw upon its operational management and market commercialization expertise in Asia. 　　The project is named the “Planova Initiative”. Singapore’s Bukom Island has been tentatively selected as the site. Both parties will jointly conduct a feasibility study to comprehensively evaluate aspects such as technological integration, raw material supply, plant layout, and overall economic benefits.
