According to Sinochem New Network, Lotte Fine Chemicals recently completed the first cross-border import of commercial-grade green ammonia. This batch of green ammonia was produced using renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, at Vision Group’s world’s largest integrated production facility for green hydrogen and green ammonia located in Inner Mongolia, China. It has obtained international certifications for sustainability and carbon management, as well as South Korea’s top-level certification for clean energy. Going forward, Lotte Fine Chemicals will apply this batch of green ammonia to carbon-free energy sectors such as ship fuel, co-combustion power generation in power plants, and the storage and transportation of green hydrogen. The company also plans to collaborate with top global enterprises to establish a diversified supply chain and sales platform, aiming to create a leading green ammonia hub in Asia. Chung Seung-won, CEO of Lotte Fine Chemicals, said that this deal is historic in nature, offering a viable path to addressing the climate crisis and achieving a low-carbon transition in energy use. Executives at Yuanjing Group said that this shipping initiative is driven by a vision for sustainable development; by leveraging intelligent technology to develop clean energy in the Gobi region, a complete commercial chain for green ammonia has been established.
