【Headline】The list of the top companies in China’s fluorosilicon industry was released in Beijing today, with 39 enterprises making the list! (Attached is the list of companies and individuals on the ranking list) Original content, April 14, 2017 – Gao Yan, Tang Ke, China Chemical Industry News. At the conference site: “Since the second half of last year, the fluorosilicon industry has entered a period of rapid development, with prices rising continuously. However, the underlying issue of structural overcapacity remains unchanged, and there is insufficient momentum for further price increases. Against the backdrop of vigorous efforts to develop the new materials industry, the fluorosilicon industry still needs to seize opportunities to move forward in terms of specialization and high-end development. ”On April 14, at the 2017 China Fluorosilicon Industry Summit Forum and the Awards Ceremony for the China Fluorosilicon Industry Hall of Fame, held in Beijing by the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, the experts present reached such a conclusion. According to statistics from the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, in 2016, except for a decline in the production of polytetrafluoroethylene, the output of other major fluorine-based chemical products in China increased compared to 2015, and the prices of most of these products rose on an annual basis. Export volumes have generally increased, while prices have mostly fallen. The export of low-end products and the import of high-end products result in import prices being much higher than export prices. Nevertheless, investment remains strong; the projects in the fluorine chemical industry planned for 2016 require an investment of around 8.6 billion yuan. “China’s silicone industry had a year marked by both challenges and successes, with overall performance being better than that in 2015. ”Yang Xiaoyong, director of the Silicone Subcommittee of the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, said, “By the end of 2016, there were 13 silicone production enterprises in China, with a total manufacturing capacity of around 1.34 million tons per year, representing a slight increase compared to 2015.” In 2016, the actual production of methylsiloxanes was approximately 1.075 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 13.6% ; The equipment utilization rate across the industry has reached 80%, alleviating the pressure of overcapacity. ” Wang Jianzhong, secretary-general of the Organic Fluorine Committee of the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, said that China’s total output of fluorine chemicals has now ranked first in the world. However, compared with advanced fluorine chemical companies abroad, its technical level is relatively backward, and the extensive development model has yet to be overcome, which has become a bottleneck to the healthy development of China’s fluorine chemical industry. Since last year, the prices of fluorine-based chemical products have risen sharply, primarily due to the increase in the prices of raw materials such as fluorspar, the shutdown of some companies resulting from environmental and safety regulations, and the inability to fully utilize production capacity owing to companies being located in industrial parks. However, the underlying issue of structural overcapacity remains unchanged; therefore, there is little momentum for price increases in the future. Cao Xianjun, president of the China Fluorosilicon Organic Materials Industry Association, said that the fluorosilicon industry is undergoing rapid changes, with product innovation, cutting-edge technologies, cross-sector integration, mergers and acquisitions, and new marketing strategies being prevalent everywhere. The industry should seize these opportunities to move toward specialization, serialization, higher quality standards, and a higher-end orientation, in order to address the current issue of structural overcapacity within the industry. “Currently, the fluorosilicon industry has become an important sector of the national economy. It simultaneously faces challenges such as emerging overcapacity, a lack of high-end products, and an irresistible urge to expand production capacity. ”Fu Xiangsheng, vice president of the Petrochemical Federation, said, “If the fluorosilicon industry wants to break through, it must seize opportunities and boost innovation.” ; Strengthen horizontal collaborative innovation as well as vertical collaborative innovation between upstream and downstream entities. ” The fluorosilicon industry is an important category of new chemical materials, playing a significant role in fields such as national defense, military affairs, and aerospace. Li Dianguo, assistant director of the Coordination and Support Center of the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Bureau, said that the integration of military and civilian sectors brings opportunities for the development of the fluorosilicon industry. “During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the National Defense Science, Industry and Technology Agency will further improve the technical maturity of materials and explore next-generation high-performance basic raw materials. Leveraging the import substitution program, research on alternatives to high-quality phenyl silicone rubber, fluoroether rubber, etc. is being carried out ; Advance the planning for a batch of projects of cross-generation significance, such as high-strength fluorosilicone rubber and fluoroether rubber with a -40°C tolerance rating. Fluorosilicon enterprises should seize this opportunity to actively participate in the development of the defense science and technology industry, as well as in the research, development, and production of weapons and equipment. Provide products directly, participate in collaborative innovation, and take equity stakes in military-related enterprises. At the same time, one should act according to their capabilities, choosing products and projects based on their own strengths and advantages, rather than following trends blindly. **Pan Aihua, deputy director of the Raw Materials Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, emphasized in conclusion that the fluorosilicon industry should pay close attention to three key areas of development in the field of new chemical materials this year: first, the research on plans for establishing innovation centers for high-performance composite materials ; The second is the formulation of a plan for establishing a demonstration platform for the production and application of new electronic chemical materials ; Third is the further identification of those vulnerable product categories with a high degree of dependence on imports of new chemical materials.
