On September 20, the 1.2 million tons per year mining and processing project at the Karchar fluorite mine of Huaoou Mining, located at the foot of the Altun Mountains in Ruoqiang County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, came online. This marked the transition of Asia’s largest single fluorite mine from the construction phase to industrial production. As the largest modern fluorite mining and processing facility in the country, this project boasts exceptional resource advantages; its reserves account for 15% of China’s total proven fluorite reserves. The fluorite powder produced here will help alleviate the country’s reliance on imported raw materials for high-end fluorine-based chemicals, providing a solid resource foundation for key industries such as new energy batteries and semiconductor etchants. At the same time, the project can create direct employment for over 500 people and indirectly generate employment for more than 2,000 people, serving as a practical example of contributing to local economic growth and fostering a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation. From the start of construction to the commencement of production, it took less than 11 months (328 days) for this mineral processing project to be completed and put into operation. In his speech, Zhang Guohua expressed his gratitude for the collaborative support from all parties. He said that the Non-ferrous Metals Group would use this commissioning as an opportunity to accelerate the subsequent construction of the mine, make every effort to advance mechanization, automation, and intelligence in operations, carry out production in a scientific and efficient manner, speed up the adjustment of production processes, improve the recovery rate in ore processing, and fully utilize production capacity. This will ensure that the project reaches its intended operational standards as soon as possible, generating good economic benefits and providing strong impetus for the high-quality development of southern Xinjiang. It is worth noting that from the outset of its planning and development, this project has adhered to the concept of green development, aiming to create a modern mining model that integrates efficient production, intelligent management, and low-carbon operations. In the mine shafts, the project has introduced over 60 pieces of large-scale mechanical equipment, enabling an integrated mechanized operation process for excavation, support, and transportation ； At the same time, efforts are made to develop non-explosive continuous mining technologies, with a view to promoting the practical use of continuous mining equipment on site. The mineral processing stage is also equipped with advanced technology; the crushing system utilizes a \"two-stage and one-closed-loop\" process, with sediment removal being carried out in the intermediate stage using cyclones. Additionally, a high-frequency stacking system has been introduced to significantly improve the sorting efficiency. In addition, the mining area has also adopted a central hot water treatment system, taking advantage of the abundant solar energy available locally to reduce electricity consumption and achieve significant energy savings.
