For pumps cooled using mechanical seal water pipes, what temperature can be reached inside the stationary and rotating rings? What temperature can be reached without using seal water for cooling, to the point where the mechanical seal deforms due to high temperature?
The figure shows the maximum operating temperature of the material; the required flatness of the sealing ring surface is 0.0009, which corresponds to three light bands. If the seal is subjected to thermal shock, it can also cause deformation of the annular surface
