We want to replace this pump and are looking for suitable alternatives. The specific operating conditions are as follows: Head: 30m ; Flow rate: 15 m3/h ; Solid content 50% ; The material is a mixture of ethanol and potassium borohydride ; The material is highly alkaline ; The maximum solid particle size is 150 μm, at room temperature ; Outlet pressure: 0.6 MPa. Due to the immiscibility of solid and liquid, there is still empty pumping during the later stages of material transfer, and the mixture is essentially in a paste-like state at that stage. Because it goes to the centrifuge, the unstable flow rate of diaphragm pumps is not suitable
A canned pump should work; I’ve encountered such conditions before, and a canned pump was chosen in those cases
Due to the immiscibility of solid and liquid, there is still some idle running at the later stages of material transfer
I don’t know; I recommended centrifugal pumps to them, but the customer chose shielded pumps instead
Pneumatic diaphragm pumps don’t have very strict requirements regarding the materials used
How many meters high is the suction? I want it to be useful and last a long time. The mechanical seal is crucial; single-face mechanical seals are definitely not suitable for such operating conditions. It is possible to consider using a slurry centrifugal pump with an open impeller, equipped with double-end mechanical seals (with flushing). As for the issue of suction, a siphon tank can be used to solve it once and for all.
The material is alkaline; will the diaphragm of the diaphragm pump be severely corroded?
Have you made a decision on your end yet? The diaphragm of the diaphragm pump is made of PTFE, allowing it to resist acids and alkalis
