I understand that a catalyst undergoes low-temperature sulfidation; more precisely, passivation occurs, with active centers being covered at low temperatures. The two-stage catalyst undergoes high-temperature sulfidation, transitioning from an oxidized state to a sulfided state to restore its activity.
