Bridge cranes can be divided into three types: ordinary bridge cranes, simple beam bridge cranes, and metallurgical-specific bridge cranes. Beam bridge cranes, in turn, can be further divided into single-beam bridge cranes and double-beam bridge cranes. Among them, single-girder bridge cranes come in mainly two types based on differences in their operation methods: manual and electric. We can classify them using the following distinctions. The operating speed of the overall mechanism of manual single-girder bridge cranes is slower than that of electric single-girder bridge cranes, and their lifting capacity is also lower; however, they have a smaller weight, are simpler to manufacture, and have lower costs. The running trolley of a manual single-girder bridge crane is a manual monorail trolley; the lifting mechanism is replaced by a hand chain hoist, and the bridge structure consists of a main girder and end girders. The operating speed of electric single-girder bridge cranes is higher than that of manual single-girder bridge cranes; production is simpler compared to the manual type, and their lifting capacity is also greater. An electric single-girder bridge crane consists of components such as the bridge frame, the main gantry moving mechanism, the electric hoist, and electrical equipment.
