Urgently need help

I am currently serving as the deputy shift leader in a chemical plant in Jiaxing. Since one of the shift leaders moved to CNOOC, the position is now vacant. My supervisors would like me to take on that role, and I also have the strong support of my colleagues. There will be a theoretical exam and an interview next Monday; I feel a lot of pressure. Could any experienced colleagues give me some advice regarding the theoretical exam and the interview?

It’s hard to say anything definite about theoretical exams, but after all, having served as a deputy team leader, one does have some understanding of the requirements for managing a workshop. In terms of interviews, a team leader must be able to share the leadership’s burdens, work hard to unite his or her team to carry out their duties properly, avoid deliberately opposing other teams, and not keep causing trouble for the leadership.
The theoretical exam will definitely cover the production process you are currently using – how could you not know that? There’s no need to worry about interviews either – it’s all people you know: lol
I guess the exam also focuses on the devices in question, requiring a good understanding of the overall manufacturing process for those devices, the precautions to be taken, daily maintenance of the equipment, team management, and ways to improve efficiency.
If there are no competitors at a comparable level, your exam is just a formality. The theoretical exam covers process parameters, process principles, and process flows. Starting and stopping, emergency response. Stay relaxed during the interview, just perform at your usual level; make sure to answer questions by considering the overall situation.
Don’t be scared; it’s not like you’re running for a leadership position. Keep a positive attitude and show your usual level of performance – handshake, guaranteed success! We must win!
