I’m a beginner seeking advice: during loading and unloading, how can one determine whether two or more different types of oils can be transported through the same pipeline? Even though the pipeline is cleaned with balls, there are still certain dead ends and branch lines that cannot be fully cleaned. To avoid any impact on oil quality, are there any guidelines or standards that can be referred to in order to prevent hazards or quality issues resulting from the use of shared pipelines?
There are no rules established regarding the mixing of different oil products; otherwise, those responsible for formulating such rules would be overworked and bear enormous responsibilities. It is said that domestic regulations are sometimes too detailed. Whether it’s possible to proceed depends on factors such as the properties of the materials, the requirements of Party A, investment considerations, and other elements – these are all things that need to be taken into account.
Generally speaking, a small amount of diesel can mix into pipelines transporting gasoline, while the presence of gasoline in pipelines designed for transporting diesel has a greater impact on the diesel.
