I’m not aware of any special requirements; all I know is that for such hazardous media, welding is the preferred method. If flanges are necessary, they should be high-pressure necked butt weld flanges. The gaskets must be non-flammable, and the fasteners as well should be pressure-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Anti-static devices should also be installed on the flanges. In short, there are a few points: first, to prevent leaks, and second, to prevent the accumulation of static electricity
Code requirements: 3.17 Pipe flanges for pressure vessels (1) The design of steel pressure vessel pipe flanges, gaskets, and fasteners shall be in accordance with the provisions of the industry standards HG/T 20592–HG/T 20635—2009, the series of standards titled \"Steel Pipe Flanges, Gaskets, and Fasteners\"； (2) For pressure vessels containing liquefied petroleum gas, media with extremely high or high toxicity, as well as highly permeable media with moderate toxicity, their pipe flanges shall, in accordance with the provisions of the industry standards HG/T 20592–HG/T 20635 series, use at least a high-neck butt weld flange, a metal wound gasket with reinforcing rings, and specially graded high-strength bolts.
