It generally includes 3 aspects; First: material costs, which refer to various sheets, pipes, bars, forgings, as well as purchased standard components. The actual price is subject to the selling price of materials available on the market. Second: processing costs, also known as manufacturing expenses. These are determined based on the technical requirements of the equipment, its complexity, and the difficulty of the manufacturing process. The actual costs vary from one manufacturing unit to another. The details depend on how the quote is prepared. Thirdly: other costs, which mainly refer to various special terms specified in the contract, such as delivery and transportation fees, tax rates, after-sales service costs, and other hidden business-related expenses related to contract settlement. There is also one very important point: customer maintenance fee (abbreviated as: kickback:lol)
One thing was missed above: if stress analysis is required for evaluating the equipment, then the cost of FEA analysis also has to be accounted for; otherwise it will result in a huge loss, as the analysis is very expensive!
If process calculations are still required, then this cost also needs to be taken into account, such as for heat exchangers and towers
Well, that’s true. If analysis and calculation are commissioned, it is indeed quite expensive. However, the drawings are usually already prepared by the design institute; for stress analysis, I usually handle it myself. For cases that aren’t too complex, the calculations can be completed in about a day
