When helping others choose a model, I came across a description. For ball valves with switches, there is an option called Speed control under the actuator parameters: yes (General Note 19). Below is the content of Note 19: Stroke speed adjustment shall be achieved using an integral flow control valve equipped with a check valve in the reverse direction. It should not be possible to fully close the flow control valve. The mechanism for adjusting the stroke speed must be fitted with a safety lock that prevents any adjustments once the setting has been made. I’m not quite sure what he wants; does he want a throttle valve installed?
It seems to imply that when this pipeline is equipped with a check valve, the shutdown speed should be related to the flow rate, and complete shutdown is not allowed. A possible reason is that the shut-off speed is faster than that of the check valve, which can cause water hammer.
