Can socket-welded gate valves be used for the drain and vent ports of pipelines carrying toxic and hazardous media?

In actual production, due to certain factors that cause internal leakage in the valves, socket-welded gate valves make it impossible to install double valves or blind covers, and the leakage issue cannot be addressed immediately

The repair and replacement of socket-welded valves involve working with open flames, which increases the difficulty of maintenance. Due to safety requirements, the drain and vent valves on toxic and hazardous pipelines must be blind-sealed during normal operation. For socket-welded valves, threads can be pre-applied at the outlet to allow the use of threaded plugs; however, explosion-proof tools are required to remove these plugs, and it is well known that explosion-proof pliers are not very durable. Therefore, if socket-welded valves are used, circular-plugged versions must not be employed, as this will pose difficulties for maintenance personnel.
