One compressor’s packing needs to be replaced. The packing box must be ground to a depth of 0.20 mm. There are O-ring grooves on the packing box; the original depth of these grooves was 2.2 mm and their width was 4 mm. The diameter of the O-rings is 3 mm. Could someone please calculate whether it’s necessary to further machine the groove depth by another 0.20 mm?
The remaining length for the 3mm O-ring is 1mm, which is a bit too much; it can be replaced with a 2.6mm O-ring. If you want it to be the same as before, then it needs to be cut back by 0.2mm
If it was working properly before, it is not recommended to deepen the groove or replace the O-ring. The gap in the metal parts has already increased; how can the interference amount of the O-ring be reduced any further? Please ask the experts for corrections!
Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary to use 0.20mm for the car.
It doesn’t matter for a place like this; flat compression is sufficient. If it’s circular, processing is required and installation becomes difficult, but this isn’t the case for a flat surface. The width of the groove is adequate, and there are standards available for reference. But I want to ask you why you go and grind it – why is it worn out? ? ? No way
When machining the stuffing box grinder, is it the side without the O-ring groove that is ground? Why is the side with the O-ring groove ground?
