Distinguished guests: Good afternoon. The oil separation performance of the screw compressors manufactured by our company has always been poor. The process includes 4 stages of filtration using filters (first stage: blade filter; second and third stages: coalescing filters; fourth stage: activated carbon filter). There are also oil return pipelines at the bottom of each filter stage, and these pipelines enable proper oil return. Lubricating oil can also be found at the drain outlet of the exhaust separator. Do any experts have any suggestions or solutions? Thank you.
Should we look for the cause in the screw design and then use imported materials to make the oil separation element? In cases where high standards are required, oil-free screws or water screws are typically used to ensure complete absence of oil. I hope this can help you
The screw drive unit was purchased, and it cannot be replaced; therefore, alternatives must be found among the devices that come with it. We replaced the filter elements several times, but the result was still not good.
What is the compression medium, and is the lubricant choice appropriate? Does the machine have aftercooling? Do you mean the exhaust separator as the one after the cooler? The oil separator is generally located at the compressor outlet, before the aftercooler. The gas after separation is actually a saturated gas (containing lubricant and process medium), and upon cooling, a small amount of liquid (lubricant, process medium) will definitely precipitate out.
The compression medium is a mixed refrigerant. The machine is cooled after oil and gas separation. The exhaust separator I’m talking about is another separator after cooling. There is a separator before cooling, and in principle, all the lubricating oil should be separated completely before cooling. The third sentence is really great.
