Question: How should the axial air seal at the shaft end of a catalytic turbocharging unit be adjusted to ensure optimal sealing and prevent friction on the air seal due to rotor movement?
The design institute advises you: Shaanxi Gas Turbine’s technical documents specify clear requirements regarding the gap between the gas seal and the shoulder; I’ve forgotten exactly how many layers are required, but I have seen those specifications.
