Hubei Sanning’s ammonia synthesis project with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of ethylene glycol has entered the pre-commissioning phase ahead of schedule! Author/Source: Yahuahua Coal Chemical Industry. Date: 2020-11-09. Clicks: 47. Recently, the oil circulation for the 3 compressors in the compressor building of Hubei Sanning’s project to adjust the raw material structure for ammonia production and to produce 600,000 tons per year of ethylene glycol was completed ahead of schedule. Affected by the pandemic, the construction of the Hubei Sanning project was also severely impacted. To ensure progress and keep costs under control, the project team accelerated construction efforts to meet the deadline. To ensure the smooth completion of oil circulation for the 3 compressors, the project team conducted on-site inspections in advance and actively coordinated the construction workers. Based on the requirements of the on-site work, they set up construction teams to place safety barriers, fire extinguishers and other warning devices around the equipment during the oil circulation process, and carried out 24/7 monitoring and maintenance. After being inspected and approved by the owner and the supervisor, all 3 compressor units successfully passed the oil circulation test on the first attempt. The completion of this oil circulation indicates an early advancement in the first phase of the pre-commissioning for the Hubei Sanning project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction work on the project. The commissioning of the project is being accelerated. The company hopes that the ethylene glycol project will enter its final stages of commissioning. To implement the company’s guidelines for project construction, the project construction command center, in collaboration with Shibaoshan New Materials Branch, is making concerted efforts to complete the testing of the urea production unit. On October 27, 2020, the molecular sieve filling operation for the purifier in System 2 of the air separation unit was successfully completed. With this, the molecular sieves for both air separation units have now been fully installed. The completion of this loading **has advanced the overall commissioning process and laid the groundwork for the trial operation of System 2#. On October 30, the urea Ф24m scraper for the ethylene glycol project was successfully tested. It is reported that the urea scraper for the ethylene glycol project is installed at the bottom of the granulation tower with a diameter of Ф24m. To balance the self-weight and the scraping load, an innovative \"four-scrapper arm\" design with two long arms and two short arms has been adopted, the maximum diameter of the main scraper arm being Ф23800mm. On October 30, the pressure testing with water for the desorption and hydrolysis system of the urea plant was successfully completed. It is reported that starting from October 28, the urea plant began to arrange for its operators to work overtime to add water during the desorption and hydrolysis process. After filling the system with water under pressure using the feed pump in the desorption tower, leaks were checked and repaired once again. After two days of hard work, the system was declared to have passed the water-filled pressure testing.
