This mainly takes into account the temperature tolerance of the electronic components inside the transmitter; -20~60°C is no problem!
According to SHT 3005-2016, Specification for the Selection and Design of Automation Instruments in the Petrochemical Industry, clause 5.3.13 b) states that in situations where the ambient temperature at the temperature sensing point is not higher than 60°C or where the installation location is no more than 20 meters above the floor, an integrated temperature transmitter is recommended; In situations where the ambient temperature at the temperature monitoring point is above 60°C or the installation location is 20 meters above the ground level, a split-type temperature transmitter is recommended ; Purpose: 1. To facilitate the observation of temperature readings. 2. The electronic components of temperature transmitters age more rapidly at high temperatures, making them prone to failure.
An ambient temperature of over 60° is actually difficult to achieve in outdoor conditions. What really happens is that the temperature of the material affects the gauge head through the instruments themselves, causing the gauge head to heat up and the electronic components to be damaged. The curve showing how the temperature of the gauge head rises due to the temperature of the material means that, in the case of gauges equipped with transmitters, the temperature of the gauge head generally does not exceed 85°C
