Lu’an 180 Project: FTO II Unit Begins Pressure Sealing Tests / Author/Source: Yaha Coal Chemicals / Date: 2018-09-16 / Clicks: 4. Recently, Lu’an Coal-based Clean Energy Company started conducting pressure sealing tests at 0.5MPa and 1.0MPa on the FTO II unit of the 180 project, taking another significant step toward achieving full-load operation of the FTO synthesis unit. The purpose of this airtightness test is to examine the sealing performance of all connection points in the container and pipeline systems, including welds, flanges, valves, and other detachable connections, to ensure that the container and pipeline systems remain airtight under operating pressure. To ensure that the airtightness testing is carried out safely and in an orderly manner, the company established an airtightness testing team with clear divisions of labor and defined responsibilities. Process engineers, following the procedures outlined in the PID diagrams, used sniffers and soapy water to conduct thorough airtightness checks on the areas where flanges were removed. Any leaks detected were marked, and maintenance personnel were promptly contacted to tighten the relevant connections and eliminate the leaks immediately. To date, the airtightness testing for the Feto II series is progressing in an orderly manner, which will provide a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning tests.
