On November 16, 2021, the chemical process supervisor in the air separation workshop of Fengxi’s Operations Department, while conducting inspections on Unit 2 of the instrument air compressor, noticed that the refrigerant pressure in the cold dryer was low. Attempts were made to increase this pressure, but it proved difficult; it was initially assumed that there was a leak in either the evaporator or the condenser of the cold dryer. A thorough inspection was then carried out on the No. 2 instrument air compressor, and it was ultimately determined that there was a leak in the evaporator of the refrigerated dryer. The Air Separation Workshop of the Fengxi Operations Department has decided to carry out emergency repairs on the leak in the evaporator coil of the cold dryer for the #2 instrument air compressor. On November 16, after the signing and confirmation of all relevant work permits, the leak repair work on the evaporator of the cold dryer for the 2# instrument air compressor was carried out in an orderly manner as planned. First, remove the connection valves, pipelines, flanges, etc. on the evaporator, and take out the tube bundle. This involves pressurizing the tube bundle to detect and seal leaks, reinstalling the tube bundle, and installing the evaporator head flanges. After 14 hours, the work of sealing the leaks in the evaporator tube bundle was successfully completed.
