Total investment of 4 billion yuan! 6 Major Hydrogen Energy Companies Sign Agreements in Chongqing Author/Source: Refining & Chemical Industry Updates Date: 2021-03-25 Clicks: 125 Recently, Jiulongpo District in Chongqing entered into agreements with six hydrogen fuel cell companies, including Guangdong Guohong Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Hongji Chuangneng Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., to jointly develop a hydrogen energy technology industrial park and create the Hydrogen Valley in Western China (Chongqing). Under the agreement, the six companies will invest 4 billion yuan in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing, to build a technology industrial park for the production of eight key components of hydrogen fuel cells (proton exchange membranes, catalysts, membrane electrodes, bipolar plates, carbon paper, fuel cell stacks, air compressors, and hydrogen circulation systems), as well as for fuel cell system integration. Once the project reaches full production capacity, it is expected to generate an annual output value of over 20 billion yuan, with tax contributions exceeding 810 million yuan. Upon completion, the project will bring together leading enterprises to form a closed-loop ecosystem, thereby significantly enhancing Chongqing’s core supporting capabilities for the development of the hydrogen energy industry. At the same time, Guangdong Guohong Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Jiulongpo District, and other industry-related parties will jointly invest billions of yuan to establish a national headquarters operation company to carry out initiatives such as the demonstration and promotion of fuel cell vehicles. To accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry, Chongqing has in recent years introduced policies such as the \"Measures for Supporting the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles in Chongqing\" and the \"Guiding Principles for the Development of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Industry in Chongqing\". It has attracted domestic and international hydrogen energy companies like Bosch, Deren Power, and Tomorrow Hydrogen to set up operations there, thereby gradually establishing a complete industrial chain that covers core components for fuel cells, system integration and manufacturing, as well as research, development, and application. Next, Chongqing will cooperate with strategic partners in the hydrogen industry chain, both upstream and downstream, in areas such as hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, and the commercial operation of fuel cell vehicles. It aims to establish a hydrogen corridor hub based in Chongqing that serves Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou, as well as a model area for the hydrogen industry chain in China, thereby creating a uniquely distinctive Hydrogen Valley in western China (Chongqing). This significant move by Guohong Hydrogen Energy, in partnership with several other leading companies, to enter Chongqing as a group, will become a new benchmark for the hydrogen energy industry in 2021! It is understood that Jiulongpo District is one of the 9 districts in Chongqing designated to accelerate the demonstration and application of fuel cells. In March this year, the construction of the city’s first hydrogen refueling station was initiated there, and the district took the lead in advancing the research, development, production, and application of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Qingling Automobile, located in Jiulongpo District, has now obtained the qualifications necessary for producing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. By joining forces with 6 leading enterprises to establish a presence in Jiulongpo, Guohong Hydrogen Energy will further strengthen the competitive advantage of Chongqing and its related enterprises in the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry.
