Review Meeting for the Collin Powder Gasification Process Package for the 1.8 million tons/year ethylene glycol production project at Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical – Author/Source: Huahua Network Coal Chemicals; Date: 2019-03-30; Clicks: 40. From March 25 to 28, a review meeting was held in Tianjin for the Collin Powder Gasification Process Package used in the gasification unit of the first phase of Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd.’s demonstration project aimed at producing new materials through the selective utilization of coal. Representatives from Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd., and Collin Future Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., along with invited technical experts, attended the meeting. The demonstration project for the production of new materials through the differentiated utilization of coal by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd. is a large-scale coal conversion project that was given priority in Shaanxi Coal Group’s plans during the 13th Five-Year Plan period; it is located in the Qingshui Industrial Park in Yulin City. The gasification unit of one of these projects, designed to produce 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol per year, will utilize 5 Corning CCG pulverized coal gasifiers with a daily coal feeding capacity of 2,000 tons each; the effective dry-base gas production capacity of each gasifier is 140,000 cubic meters per hour. Completion and commissioning of this unit are scheduled by the end of June 2021. Zhang Xiaojun, General Manager of Yulin Chemical Company of Shaanxi Coal Group, provided an update on the project’s progress, expressed approval of the work carried out by Collin Company and Tianchen Company, and set clear requirements for this process package review meeting as well as the subsequent engineering design work. Shan Yubing, chairman of Corin Company, said that the company will fully cooperate with all parties involved to strive to turn the gasification unit of Shaanxi Coal Group’s Yulin Chemical plant, with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, into a high-quality project. At the meeting, a report was presented by Colin Company on the design concepts, content and depth of the process package documents, the process technical solutions, and the process flow configuration. The technical expert group conducted a thorough and careful review and discussion of the process package design documents, and ultimately agreed that the documents met the requirements of the basic design to a sufficient extent. The successful completion of the process package review has laid the foundation for the implementation of the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol project, marking the transition of the project’s gasification unit from the technical design phase to the engineering design phase. CHOREN Industrietechnik GmbH is a globally renowned patent holder in the field of energy technology; it originated from the German Fuel Institute (DBI) and is located in Dresden, Saxony, Germany. The company holds independent and complete intellectual property rights as well as industrial solutions for Collin CCG’s overhead multi-nozzle high-pressure dry powder gasification technology. With over 40 years of experience in research and development, design, equipment manufacturing, construction, and operation, it offers comprehensive services including technical licensing for fluidized bed gasification technology, process package design, supply of key equipment, technical training, and on-site operation and maintenance support. In 2013, a operating company was established in China – Collin Future Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. The headquarters is located in Beijing, while the technology and R&D centers are situated in Dresden, Saxony, Germany. Leveraging German technical platforms as well as domestic research facilities, Colin Company continues to increase its investment in key equipment and technologies, striving to further improve the energy efficiency of existing technologies and to develop the next generation of gasification technologies that are more efficient and capable of utilizing a wider range of feedstocks. CCG® Corin powder fluidized bed gasification technology is widely applicable to the gasification of various feedstocks such as bituminous coal, anthracite, lignite, and petroleum coke. It can handle a wide range of coal types, with ash content ranging from 6% to 35%; no special requirements are imposed regarding calorific value or ash composition. Collin’s CCG powder gasification technology has been licensed for use in various locations including Guizhou, Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, and Hubei; a total of 13 gasification units have been installed, with capacities ranging from 1,200 tons to 1,500–2,000 tons of coal per day. Technical features: 1. The world’s only unique gasification technology featuring a 3+1 overhead-bottom injection layout for water-cooled walls; the ignition nozzles and coal powder nozzles have a simple structure ; Easy to repair and replace ; The gasifier can continue to operate even if one or two coal powder burners fail ; Feeding under pressure; quick and simple feeding process ; Online coal line calibration – simple and fast ; After normal operation, the pilot burner continues to run as a permanent light ; After exiting the vehicle, ensure there is no pressure loss, and feed materials quickly as needed. Cold start-up within 4 hours, hot start-up within half an hour ; The flame combustion area of a multi-nozzle gasification furnace is wider ; Thereby ensuring a high conversion rate and high slagging capacity (slag/ash ratio > 7:3). 2. Excellent gasification performance; operating parameters: 1200–1700°C, 25–40 bar ; Efficiency parameters: Effective gas CO+H2 >92%, Carbon conversion rate C%: >99% ; Cold gas efficiency: ~83% ; Consumption parameter: coal consumption (kg/kNm3(CO+H2))
