On May 22, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group Co., Ltd. signed the general contract for the 300,000 tons/year polypropylene (Phase I) project as part of Tianjin Bohai’s “two-in-one” relocation and renovation project, with China Tianchen Engineering Co., Ltd. Zou Zemin, General Manager of Bohua Development, and Bian Ming, Deputy General Manager of Tianchen Company, signed the contract on behalf of their respective parties. The \"Integration of Industry and Information Technology\" relocation and transformation project of Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd. is located to the south of Xigangchi in the Nangang Industrial Zone of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, and to the east of Nangang Sixth Street. Led by Tianjin Dagu Chemical Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Botian Chemical Co., Ltd., the project takes the olefin production facilities and caustic soda production facilities as its core industrial components. Based on the principle of chlorine balance, and taking into account the existing technologies and scale of the old plants, as well as factors such as raw material sources, local product sales markets, and the company’s current product portfolio, downstream industries have been developed successively to extend the product chain. The \"Two Transformations\" relocation and renovation project carried out by Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd. involves the construction of 2×1800,000 tons per year methanol-to-olefins (MTO) plants, 300,000 tons per year polyethylene (PE) plants, 2×300,000 tons per year polypropylene (PP) plants, 600,000 tons per year ion-exchange membrane caustic soda plants, 800,000 tons per year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plants, 60,000 tons per year ethylene oxide (EO) plants, 40,000 tons per year surfactants (EO, AEO) and water reducers (PEG) plants, a 200,000 tons per year propylene oxide plant combined with a 450,000 tons per year styrene plant (PO/SM), 100,000 tons per year polyether PPG plants, 30,000 tons per year polymer polyols (POP) plants, and 100,000 tons per year hydrogen peroxide plants. Among them, the 1.8 million tons per year methanol-to-olefins project utilizes the DMTO-Ⅱ methanol-to-olefins proprietary technology of Xinxing New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. In August 2016, Pan-Pacific Energy Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Biko Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Bohua (**) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tianjin Bohai Chemical Group Corporation, officially signed a methanol purchase agreement with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tons in Tianjin. The agreement will meet the long-term demand for methanol as a raw material for the new methanol-to-olefins plant at Bohai Chemical, and it will utilize the inexpensive natural gas resources in North America to produce methanol, thereby supporting the development of methanol-to-olefins and other downstream methanol industries along China’s coast.
