World’s largest coal-fed gasifier produced in Harbin Author/Source: Coal Chemical Industry 114 Forum Date: April 24, 2020 Clicks: 17 On April 21, the first four-nozzle water-coal slurry gasifier for the second phase of the Inner Mongolia HuiNeng Coal Chemical project, developed by Harbin Boiler Factory Co., Ltd. under Harbin Electric Group, was successfully manufactured and shipped; the remaining two units will also be manufactured and shipped in the near future. This gasifier is capable of handling 3,300 tons of coal per day per unit, making it the gasifier with the highest daily coal input in the world to date. It is also the first gasifier in China to feature nickel-based alloy four-nozzle linings on its inner walls, which adds to its complexity in terms of manufacturing. The successful completion of this gasification furnace marks a new milestone for Harbin Electric Boilers in undertaking the design and manufacturing of core equipment for ultra-large-scale chemical projects. A gasifier refers to the main equipment for gasification. Depending on the properties of coal and the various requirements for gas, there are multiple gasification methods. The corresponding gasification equipment includes fixed-bed (moving-bed) gasifiers such as UGI gasifiers and Ruhr coal gasifiers, fluidized-bed (boiling-bed) gasifiers such as Winkler gasifiers, and fluidized-gas-bed gasifiers such as K-T gasifiers and Texaco gasifiers. Based on the gasification pressure, there is atmospheric-pressure gasification and pressurized gasification; based on the feed method, there is solid-feed and slurry-feed; and based on the slag discharge method, there are solid slag discharge and molten slag discharge, among other design options.
