Recently, the high and low cycle gas compressors for the 400,000-ton/year polypropylene plant (hereinafter referred to as the “PP3 plant”) as part of Yulin Energy Chemicals’ Phase I completion project, which were contracted out through EPC by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., were successfully installed, marking the full start of the installation work for the large-scale equipment in this plant. To ensure the smooth progress of this large-scale unit installation, the project team carried out thorough technical preparations and provided clear instructions regarding foundation handover and inspection, unpacking inspections, equipment transportation routes, and positioning, thereby ensuring a smooth installation process. It is reported that the PP3 plant is equipped with a total of 7 compression units: 4 reciprocating compression units, 2 centrifugal compression units, and 1 liquid ring compression unit. The high and low pressure cycle gas compressors installed this time belong to reciprocating compressor units. They are primarily used to compress the gaseous monomers separated by the medium-pressure and low-pressure bag filters, and to recycle these monomers back into the multi-zone cycle reactor system, thereby enabling their reuse and reducing the energy consumption per ton of product produced by the facility. The installation of the high and low cycle compressors has set a good start for the full-scale installation of the large-scale units in the PP3 plant, and it also lays a solid foundation for the installation of the extrusion granulator, which is a key equipment in this plant, in the near future.
