The high-pressure product separator for the LDPE/EVA unit in Yueneng Chemical’s improvement project was successfully hoisted into place. Author/Source: Coal Chemical Engineering 114 Forum. On October 17, it was reported from the LDPE/EVA unit of Yueneng Chemical’s improvement project that the high-pressure product separator, a piece of equipment required for long-term operation, was successfully installed after 5 hours and 30 minutes of hard work, thereby saving valuable time in completing the construction of the reactor frame’s steel structure. It is understood that the high-pressure product separator serves as the separation point between high and low pressures in LDPE/EVA plants, playing a crucial role as a link that connects different stages in the plant’s operation process. It is reported that the high-pressure product separator weighs 129 tons. The entire unit is equipped with heating coils, and it is fixed using upper and lower supports. Due to its special structure, it requires high precision during installation; the equipment must pass vertically through a steel structure with a maximum gap of only 1.2 centimeters. During the operation, various units worked closely together; through precise alignment and positioning, they overcame numerous difficulties, ensuring the smooth progress of the lifting operations. This also created favorable conditions for the facility to make every effort to achieve its goals in the \"installation campaign\". The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) involves an investment of 14.413 billion yuan. Using coal and natural gas as raw materials, this project aims to build an integrated facility capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be put into operation in the second half of 2020. Once operational, Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will reach 1.9 million tons per year, making it the largest polyolefin production project in Shaanxi Province at present.
