Coordination of Lu’an Group’s 1.4 million-ton coking project / Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemicals / Date: 12-09-2019 / Clicks: 121 On December 5, Liu Junyi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Lu’an Group, along with Ma Junxiang, Deputy General Manager, along with Qin Suliang, Secretary of the Lucheng District Party Committee, and Guo Qiang, District Head, went to the site of Lu’an’s 1.4 million-ton coking project to hold joint meetings; the two sides discussed ways to accelerate the construction of this project. The first phase of the Luan An Coking project, with a capacity of 1.4 million tons per year, is the initial stage in Luan An’s effort to create a large-scale modern coking complex with an annual production capacity of 5.4 million tons. It is located in the western area of the Lucheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, covers an area of 550 mu, has a budgeted investment of 2 billion yuan, and the construction period is 22 months ； The second-phase project includes the construction of facilities for producing LNG from coke oven gas via hydrogen extraction, with a transition toward hydrogen energy development. Since the project was launched, all tasks have progressed smoothly. At present, the feasibility study has passed the group’s review and the revisions have been completed ； The geological survey has been completed, and a treatment design plan has been prepared ； Works such as ground leveling, retaining walls, and fences are progressing rapidly. It is reported that Lu’an Coking focuses on park-based development; as a first step, between 2019 and the beginning of 2021, it plans to use its existing idle production capacity to build a new coking plant with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons, using 6.25-meter diameter coke ovens ； The second step involves acquiring Yi Shen Xiang Rui Coking and Hong Feng Coking companies between 2020 and 2022, and utilizing some of the idle production capacity to build a new Lu An Coking plant with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of 6.25-meter-diameter rammed coke ； The third step involves, between 2023 and 2024, utilizing the first and second coke plants of the coking company as well as some idle production capacity to build a new coke production facility with an annual output of 1.5 million tons of 7-meter-top coke ； The fourth step involves acquiring Yi Shen Lin Yuan Coking between 2024 and 2025, and building a new coking plant with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons. The total planned investment for the project is 12.157 billion yuan (including the three phases planned). Luan An Coking Company was established in November 2012. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Luan An Huan Neng, a listed company under the Luan An Group, and it serves as a key enterprise in the group’s coal-coking-chemicals industry chain. The company comprises two production plants – Plant 1 with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons and Plant 2 with an annual capacity of 960,000 tons – as well as a coking project under construction with an annual capacity of 1.4 million tons. Among them, the annual production capacity for coke is 1.56 million tons, for tar it is 59,700 tons, for crude benzene it is 6,600 tons, for ammonium sulfate it is 732 tons, and for coke oven gas it is 663 million cubic meters. On May 26, 2019, Lu’an Coking Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony with Lucheng District in Changzhi City to advance the construction of a new coking project with a capacity of 1.4 million tons. Seizing the opportunity to develop the Lucheng industrial park to an annual production capacity of 10 million tons, the company decided to build a new coking plant with a capacity of 1.4 million tons per year, using a 6.25-meter ramming process.
