EPC contract signed for Panjin Haoye’s 3 million tons per year residue hydrogenation unit and 160,000 cubic meters per hour coal-based hydrogen production unit / Author/Source: Panjin Haoye, Liaoning / Date: February 24, 2020 / Views: 112. It was reported recently that Panjin Haoye Chemical Co., Ltd. in Liaoning signed an EPC contract with Lanzhou Shihui Heavy Equipment Group for a project aimed at the deep processing of low-quality residues; this project includes a residue hydrocracking unit with a capacity of 3 million tons per year and a coal-based hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 160,000 cubic meters per hour. The value of the contract is 1.15 billion yuan. Among them, the 160,000 standard cubic meters per hour coal-to-hydrogen plant was designed by Ruize Petrochemical; Lanshi Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd. was responsible for the EPC overall project management and the manufacturing of the key equipment, utilizing the circulating fluidized bed pressurized gasification technology package provided by Lanshi Research Institute. This technology was jointly developed by Lansi Research Institute and the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the first domestic demonstration unit of this technology has been put into use in the Lansi Gold Chemistry project. The application of Lansi’s coal-to-gas technology in the Panjin Haoye coal-to-hydrogen project represents an important step for Lansi Heavy Equipment in transitioning from traditional equipment manufacturing to providing comprehensive solution services. On December 6, 2019, the dry-ton scale circulating fluidized bed pressurized gasification demonstration project developed by Lanshi Gold Chemical, under the EPC general contracting of Lanshi Heavy Equipment, successfully completed the entire process. Operated by Jinchang Lanshi Company, this project is used in Gansu Jinhua Group’s 200,000 tons per year synthetic ammonia production line to supply raw material gas in place of the existing fixed-bed gasifiers. It enables zero emissions of waste gas and wastewater, completely eliminating the pollution problems associated with fixed-bed gasifiers. Moreover, by utilizing locally available coal of poor quality that is difficult to gasify using traditional methods, the coal usage cost is reduced by 30%–50%. The 3 million tons per year residue hydrocracking unit at Panjin Haoye was designed by Ruize Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Lanshi Heavy Equipment; Lanshi Heavy Equipment was responsible for the overall EPC project and the manufacturing of key equipment. Luoyang Ruihua provided the technology for the suspended-bed hydrogenation process. This project represents the first outcome of the partnership established among Lanshi Heavy Equipment, Ruize Petrochemical, and Luoyang Ruihua to promote the industrial application of suspended-bed hydrogenation technology and share benefits accordingly. After the project is implemented, Lanshi Heavy Equipment will leverage its domestically developed proprietary heavy oil hydrogenation technology to create an EPC industrial ecosystem that combines \"proprietary core process packages + engineering design + manufacturing of core equipment\".
