Successful first ignition of Jinhua Furnace’s solid waste treatment unit for coal-based hydrogen production in Shandong – Author/Source: Jinhua Furnace; Date: 2020-06-03; Clicks: 4. At 20:09 on June 2, the gasification furnace of Shandong Qinghe Chemical’s coal-based hydrogen production project was successfully ignited for the first time. Recently, the technical staff from Shandong Qinghe Chemical Company and Beijing Qingchuang Jinhua Company conducted repeated inspections at the project site to address the issues present in various stages, ensuring steady progress throughout the process. On June 2, the ignition was carried out successfully on the first attempt. The coal-to-hydrogen project of Shandong Qinghe Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Shandong Jincheng Chemical Co., Ltd.) utilizes the water-cooled wall waste boiler gasifier technology of the Jinhua Type 3.0; the gasification pressure is 6.5 MPaG, with each gasifier producing 60,000 Nm3/h of useful gas (CO + H2). The gasification facility is equipped with two gasifiers, one in operation and one as a backup. The coal-to-hydrogen project of Shandong Qinghe Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. involves feeding solid waste from the Qinghe plant, as well as from companies such as Shandong Jincheng Heavy Oil Chemical and Jincheng Petrochemical Group, into gasifiers for use as raw material in hydrogen production. 21,945.7 tons of hazardous waste and 1,089 tons of general solid waste are recycled annually. The types of waste are as follows: 1. Shandong Jincheng Heavy Oil Chemical Co., Ltd.: sludge and scum (with a moisture content of 80%), 1,875 tons per year; these are classified as hazardous waste (HW08). 2 Shandong Jincheng Heavy Oil Chemical Co., Ltd.: biochemical sludge, 1,089 tons per year. 3 Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd.: Aging cyclosulphone solvent, 75 tons/year, classified as hazardous waste (HW06). 4. Shandong Qinghe Chemical and Shandong Jincheng Heavy Oil Chemical waste ion exchange resins, 97.7 tons per year, are classified as hazardous waste (HW13). 5 Shandong Qinghe Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.: Floating oil, 19,710 tons per year; classified as hazardous waste (HW08).
