**Energy Group wins bid for coal chemical project, sourced from Coal Chemical Network, April 14, 2026. Recently, the tender process for design and management services related to the coal liquefaction upgrade demonstration project carried out by Guoneng (Ordos) Energy Chemical Company was completed, and the candidates were made public. The first candidate to win the bid for Bid Section 1 is Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Design Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 26.895 million yuan. The first winning bidder for Bid Section 2 is CNPC East China Design Institute Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 32.791 million yuan. The second-ranked candidate for both bid sections is Zhongyi Wood Engineering Co., Ltd. This project utilizes second-generation coal liquefaction technology, and plans to build a coal liquefaction production line with an annual capacity of 2.2 million tons, as well as an indirect coal liquefaction production line with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons. The coal liquefaction process follows a route of \"coal liquefaction – hydrogenation stabilization – hydrogenation reforming\", while indirect coal liquefaction employs a route of \"oil synthesis – oil processing\"; in addition, a coal-to-gas system is used to supply hydrogen and syngas. The products produced by this project include vehicle diesel, aviation kerosene, liquid paraffin, etc., with a total investment of 42.6 billion yuan. Previously, the technical licensing and preliminary design for the coal indirect liquefaction unit of the project were awarded to the Sino-Science Synthetic Oil Consortium. The project is located in the Ordos Mengsu Economic Development Zone, to the north of the already operational pilot plant for coal direct liquefaction with a capacity of millions of tons. This project is an upgraded demonstration project built using second-generation technology by the **Energy Group, following the successful operation of the world’s first commercial coal direct liquefaction plant with a capacity of one million tons per year.
